not really, in terms of power the mishima stlye dominate. It just that traditional karate is more fluient, but in all what matters is who uses it. In this case jin is the stronger of the three because he once? defeated heihachi when he using the mishima style back in tekken 3.

Yeah, the director said this in the artbook: We requested to have Takayuki Takeya design Devil as well as asking NAMCO BANDAI for a fresh new appearance for Devil in the movie. Kazuya can control the devil gene, so we had his form look human? from the beginning, but we wanted Jin's first form to be much more beastly to capture the fact that he can't control it." It's refreshing to see someone appreciate that look.
