They don't stand for Religion, Jon Foreman even says that the answers are found outside religion which can become a box. They try to keep their music open to all people. The average church goer are the ones that buy into everything and are easily brainwashed and don't use much common sense. Switchfoot is capitalizing and promoting the religion through music with their lyrics. I am trying get someone to actually wake up and realize that? the religion is among the worst ones out there and that religion really isn't necessary to practice or promote.

Christianity is defined differently by individuals and denominations of Christianity. I think being a Christian is believing in God? and Jesus, and practicing what Jesus taught to the fullest of our understanding. To answer your second question, the afterlife and the meaning of life is believed to be in religion. I do not ascribe to any religion. actually, you don't have to choose a religion if you don't want to. Just don't violate someone else's civil rights and if you do something wrong against another, apologize and make amends and then move on. Common sense would dictate that the person who committed the violations should be chastised and told to make amends with the victim of their crimes, yet Christians are? told to love and accept that person. I don't Jon Foreman's song writing it all that unique and special. There are better lyricists than Foreman too. For lyrics, I prefer Peter Gabriel or some of Sting's lyrics. Maybe true, I know from experience as I am practicing toward a music degree that Switchfoot's skill and musical knowledge is not expert. I think you are missing? the point. Jon Foreman's skill at writing music with meaningful lyrics is what draws me to it; he expresses it through his pop styled music. I also know from study in philosophy and religion that his music is trying to push past the affluent and superficial lifestyle common in the USA. He is wiser than he appears.

I don't know if I agree with that statement I think most? Swichfoot watchers just like the band because they are Christian and because Switchfoot members aren't really that great of musicians. In the grand scheme of things, they aren't classically trained musicians that really know that much about music in the first place. They are just average rock musicians with a producer that have a sound that is similar to a lot of other bands out there and the musicianship isn't that great. Sorry.

Well, that's what the Chrisitians always send that message, but the problem is if every Christian didn't sin, then they wouldn't have to constantly go back and forth to church every week, because they wouldn't have anything to ask God for? forgiveness for. But asking God for forgiveness isn't what they should be doing. They shouldn't be sinning in the first place, and if they do, they need to ask the victims of their sins for forgiveness, but they don't promote that.

I love this video and song very very much. Sometimes (most times) I feel just like the guy in the video. He's running in the opposite direction that everyone seems to be running from. I think it was really creative and symbolic how the guy was striving to still run the opposite way despite people pushing and looking at him like he was crazy. That's in real life.
