think about it rakim->krs->nas->kanye takes you through a hip hop timeline. kanye tops it off because he's the newest of the 4. he incorporates a lot of old style in his rhymes, but it's hard to see that when all you look at is the surface of an artist. but the point is these? are the rappers primo chose to represent the progression of hip hop thru his life, one day, even kanye will be considered "classic". also listen to any of these 4's rappers and you'll hear the influence one hand on the next

you have a point. people need to stop hating just for the sake of hating without even giving a new rapper a chance. that is true, but Kanye is not as good? as Nas, Rakim, or KRS-One, which is clearly evident in this song. Don't get me wrong, I like Kanye and think he is good, but not that good. They are on a whole different level. Also, you said people would still hate if he "spit the best verse ever," but he didn't, so you will never know.

Kanye's made tons of classics, and that's why hes on this track. Rakim and KRS One are some of the reasons why Nas is a rapper, and Nas is one of the reasons Kanye is rapper. the hip hop audience is so close-minded. If you guys opened? your ears, eyes, and mind you'd see that this collab is actually one of the greatest things that ever happened to music. Instead of going "fuck new music" or "hiphop is dead" why not just encourage and listen to good music, old school and new school.

Kanye was good. Before his later albums. Twisted dark fantasy is a masterpiece from a production point of view but from a rapping point of view it lacks. I wouldn't? put him lyrically over anyone in this video except maybe krs because krs makes educated political rap.
