I use a natural deodorant by Mama Nature called ProSkin Athlete and it stops me from smelling. It doesn't stop you from sweating but that's what anti-perspirants are for. I (and several of my friends) have made this recipe many times and have never had problems with it liquefying as long as it is stored at temperatures of 76 degrees or less (as I mention at 3:59-4:12 on the video, it will melt and make a mess? if it gets above 76 degrees). You could add beeswax if you'd like to raise the melting point a little bit, but it would still need to be stored at relatively cool temperatures.

This recipe turned into a liquid once poured into the tubes...even refrigerated it went liquid on me. What a mess. Will have to remelt with bees wax to harden it up. Glad I didnt make too many tubes of it but I did? give my sister a tube & it spilled all over her floor when she tried to use it. How embarassing. Thks for sharing but this recipe needs tweeking

Hi, i want to thank you for this recipe, it has worked amazingly for me. Really the best deo ive ever used, no smell, no nothing. Just stains a little, but it washes off in the laundry. Just to say i also added a about a tsp of baking soda. Have no? idea if that made a diff but anyhow... And ive tried cornstarch and i think arrowroot powder works a lot better, at least for me. The reason to use coconut oil is for its? antibacterial properties. If anyone out there is vegan, you can use candelilla or carnauba (plant) waxes instead of beeswax to harden it. I add a little shea butter to my recipe for its soothing/moisturizing properties. I used to have real bad BO with commercial aluminum containing deodorants, even the clinical strength ones. Now I have no BO at all!!!! The only trick is getting the ratio right of coconut oil, candelilla wax, baking soda and cornstarch.

I have been making this and selling it since July 2009. The beeswax hardens it naturally. I use 4 oz. coconut oil, 1 oz. beeswax, 1 cup of arrowroot powder and 2-3 tablespoons of essential oils. I make lavender and lemongrass/cedarwood deodorant. I have? been selling these at markets and to health food stores for about 6-8 months. It is pretty popular as I can't find anything like this on the market. Get your beeswax from a local beekeeper.

This deodorant works great in keeping odors away. However, the "76" rule for the melting coconut oil is TRUE TRUE TRUE! I live in Northern Maine and thought I'd be safe, but even in my medicine cabinet, it turned to liquid. In my second batch, I combined the coconut oil with beeswax. 2? OZ oil, two OZ beeswax. This gives you the moisture, but doesn't melt until about 85 degrees. I know....I tested it on my space heater.

In the video the girl says "3 tablespoons of Shae butter", that is a different kind of butter with a mild smell and different properties, look it up. Hope that helps. (I think you could sub for cocoa butter if you want a chocolate smell and just grate it to yield 3 tbp., it will melt when you? cook it, just like chocolate does).

I use 6 parts corn starch? and 1 part baking soda (NOT powder). Mix it up, put it in a sealed bowl - I use a cheap plastic Glad type bowls you get 4 for a couple dollars - and just use a powder puff to "dust" yourself. Works great under the arms, chest, etc...

I was sitting with my brother calling our Internet company cause I had some trouble. I was sitting waiting while listening to music for 30 minutes, then I hung up. Tried again and was sitting 15 minutes and hung up again. Then my brother tried and he sat listening for 2 minutes and they picked it up. Damn I was pissed for wasting not only my time but also? my money :P

I've used the crystal deodorant too and here is my experience. I'm sorry but I just have to chime in. With this crystal one you DO need to use it for a while to see if it works. What happened to me is that the crystal deodorant worked for me incredibly well for about 6 months and then just lost it's effectiveness. I'm not the only one either, I've seen similar "loss of effectiveness" reviews elsewhere. :( I'm really trying, but having no luck? finding anything :(

You look great girl! Thanks for sharing, I thought I was the only person with this issue. I have actually been trying the same product for about 1 month and unfortunately I am still in need of something else as the day ends, lol.? If you know of any other natural deoderants, please, please, please let me know. I still have to switch with other deodorants on occassions...so frustrating :-/
