By: VanishingNomad. on 29 Mar 12, 01:39:40
I? often do somehting similar, only I dig down, and lay a "Basement" of larger logs about the size of my wrist or forearm. Then Iayer that up until it is level with the surface. Last, I build a normal TeePee, and surround it with a log cabin like structure. The Teepee is for ignition mostly. Once I have it all going, I put more medium sticks down the center of the logs untl those make a really good coal bed. These fires will burn for years if you load them up every morning.
